Located near the entrance of the Great Smoky Mountains in Maggie Valley, the Rustic Walch Log Cabin Lodge is well situated as your "base camp" from which to plan your daily trips. During late September through October, the leaves change from day to day. They change with the decreasing light and temperature. From your base camp, you can travel up in elevation to the Blue Ridge Parkway or down in elevation to see the leaves at their best. |

Sit down meals can be held in the dinning room which seats 6 to 8. If you desire for your own home cooked meals, the Walch Log Cabin kitchen is equipped with all the utensils, plates, glassware, and pots/pans you will need for your stay. Appliances include a refrigerator with ice maker, electric stove top and oven, and microwave. |
The days activities can be arranged and planned while pulling up a stool at the cozy country kitchen breakfast bar. The copper counter bar seats up to five, for a quick meal, or just watch the cooks "do their thing" in the kitchen, while you supervise their work! |

For a little getaway, you can retire to the cabin loft to read a book, listen to a C.D. on the player (bring your own), take a quick nap or to watch your own TV program---while the "group" are watching the "game" downstairs or playing in the game room in the basement. |
